Americans ages 18-30 can apply for the Managing Editor position at http://flavorpill.com/australia/submit.html. Just tell why you deserve the position and what experience you have with writing, editing and social media. The deadline for entries is February 15, 2010.
"The ability to go to Australia for up to 12 months, get a job and experience our unique and diverse adventures through the Work and Holiday Visa program makes the opportunity with Flavorpill's new Melbourne newsletter a dream job. This is a great way to add to one's resume by joining the locals and getting off the beaten path," said Tourism Australia Vice President Americas Daryl Hudson.
Australia's two-year-old "Work and Holiday" visa program is a great opportunity for anyone 18-30 to work and travel in Australia for up to a 12-month period. To sweeten the deal, Tourism Australia has partnered with STA Travel and V Australia to offer various packages for those who want to take advantage of the visa or just play on vacation, including:
- Roundtrip airfare from LAX to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane on V Australia from $735. Book by March 31!
- Live, Work & Play package - Roundtrip air, 1 year work and holiday visa, 2 nights' accommodations, orientation, job leads and more from $1,301
- Different vacation options (with land and air) including
- Surf Melbourne from $1,080
- Cairns Reef and Rainforest Adventure from $1,393
- Western Explorer from $1,768
The one-year job with Flavorpill starts September 1 and includes airfare to Melbourne and 12-night accommodation.
Even if you're not editor material there are other experiences to pursue; be a bartender and meet the locals, work on a farm then discover the outback, or find your own way.
U.S. citizens can apply for the visa online or complete an application form and lodge it with the nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate.
